"WAITING" by Sherry Thurston

Four Marines from "Charlie" Company 1/8 are shown waiting along side a road at Camp Lejeune, NC in 1981. They were at a rifle range near Sneads Ferry, NC. They were part of the 24th MAU, the unit that was eventually deployed to Beirut, Lebanon. This unit sustained heavy casualties in the bombing of the BLT HQ. They were under the command of 1stLt. William Zimmerman. It is not known if these particular men were in Beirut, but their identity remains unknown.
